iPhone to hit India

Apple's iPhone has been top in most of ours wish list and some of them were just crazy about it. Most of you still don't have it is because it is not available in India, the other possible reason is that it has been too expensive. I you too belonged to one of the categories above then you will just have to wait until this year end. Yes Apple has partnered with two leading mobile operators in India (Airtel and Vodafone). iPhone is expected to launch in India by the end of this year.

Its not just a launch in India, its launch of a whole new version of the phone its iPhone 2.0. This means its not the same model that was launched a few years back.. Its a whole new version that comes with a complete new set of features.

iPhone 3G

The iPhone 2.0 is 3G enabled with a high speed connectivity, it also supports to Microsoft Active Sync to synchronize information with Windows PC and Exchange Server. The phone also comes with a built in GPS receiver and support for maps; similar to the Nokia Navigator. iPhone 3G delivers UMTS, HSDPA, GSM, Wi-Fi, EDGE, GPS, and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR in one compact device — using only two antennas. There will be a set of third-party applications developed by Apple partners using the iPhone SDK launched some time ago. Apple is also planing to launch a new service this year called the "Mobile Me" that allows real-time sync their contacts, mails, calendar and files between all the devices such as iPhone, Mac and PC.

If all this seems interesting to you and want to get one for your self then there is another reason. And the good news is that this new device will not burn a hole in your pockets. Yes! iPhone 2.0 is much cheaper than its previous version, in fact its just half of the price of the earlier model. The price is around $199 to $200, it is expected to be the same internationally.
